NIGERIA @60TH : Sunday Igboho Queries Key Yorubas’ Absenteeism At Scheduled Peaceful Rally

Ibadan based Social Activist, Philanthropist and one of the leading advocates for the actualisation of Oduduwa Republic, Chief Sunday Adeyemo who is popularly known as ‘ Sunday Igboho’ has queried the key yoruba figures on their absenteeism at the scheduled peaceful rally Slated for October 1st in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State.

Sunday Igboho stated this on Thursday, October 1st at the scheduled peaceful rally held at Soka axis of Ibadan, the capital of the pacesetter state.

He said it was disheartening and worrisome that some key Yoruba figures who had earlier pledged to surface at the peaceful rally could not summon courage to fulfill their pledge and promise.

Sunday Igboho reiterated that their alleged absenteeism and failure to substantiate reasons that precluded their nonappearance indicated that something was fishing and are trying to hide skeletons in their respective cupboards.

He added that persistent absenteeism on matters that pertain to yorubas would not quickly grant the needed autonomy and possible secession from the existing Nigeria.

Sunday however scolded the men of Nigeria Police, Department of State Security(DSS) and Army on their insistence to prevent other Yoruba patriots from participating at the rally that devoids of violence and disorderliness.

In an address read by one of the members who participated at the rally stated that the peaceful rally scheduled to 60th Nigeria’s independence in Ibadan was significant and necessary to show solidarity support for the proposed and agitating Oduduwa Republic.

He revealed that the rally is to show commitment and patriotism to the actualization of Yoruba Nation which he reechoed would solve the problems of inhabitants and citizens of Yoruba Speaking States at home and in the diaspora.

He said that the celebration of 60th Nigeria’s independence called for sober reflection considering the leadership problems that are associated with unemployment, lawlessness, killings, maiming and marginalization of yorubas in all ramifications.

He disclosed that letter seeking for autonomy of yorubas had been sent to President Muhammadu Buhari and its copies were made available to President of the Senate, Speaker of the House of Representatives on same date of 28th September, 2020.

He said that they all remained committed to the actualization of the dreams and they would always comport themselves peacefully till the struggle turns to success.

He enjoined all Yoruba leaders both at home and in the diaspora to identify with the patriots and advocates seeking for autonomy of Yoruba speaking states, adding that their public identification with the team would boost their morales and ease the mission.

He enjoined President Muhammadu Buhari and those that matter in Nigeria to do the needful on possibility of the long awaited dreams.
